Hi! My name's Max Juchheim, and I'm a software developer.
My background is in biological science, and I got my first exposure to programming
while working as a molecular biologist at the DNA repository Addgene.
Addgene tracks its samples with a custom laboratory information
management system built in Python, and I began learning that language
in order to interface with it.
I found myself becoming more and more interested in computer science,
and I also found that the same skills that I had developed in life
sciences research (logical thinking, problem solving, and
organization, to name a few) serve me well for programming.
While at Addgene, I was given access to the company codebase and was
able to make 20+ pull requests that were successfully merged and
deployed.
Concurrently, I spent a couple of years studying coding
independently and taking online classes. I eventually enrolled in
an immersive full-stack web development program where I was able to
further develop my skills in programming. I'm actively
looking for new opportunities to continue pursuing my passion as a
developer!
